Link Bait Definition, Methods & Types

11:47 PM ?Red Chilli Media ? To be on top of a search engine ranking is the goal of most websites. A search engine ranking?s main purpose is to separate the more improved websites from the junk websites. This is primarily done by the search engines to provide their users with appropriate and significant results as well as quality content. To be set apart from the herd and to stand out among the millions of websites, a website owner has to think of ways to gain link popularity. Link popularity is a very vital factor used by search engines to determine the rank of a webpage. Link popularity is measured by the number of links made by other websites to your website. Why is it so important to have link popularity and why would website owners want to make it to the top as far as search engine ranking is concerned? The most obvious reason for this is that the higher the ranking, the more traffic the search engine is sending your way. If your website?s primary purpose is to promote an online business, think of the saving you can make on your advertising budget because of the potential clients the search engine is sending your way.Link building or link popularity can be effectively achieved through the link bait strategy. A website who cannot create links naturally must try to make use of the link bait idea. Link bait is an effective tool to increase traffic in your website. More often than not, link bait is a part of a search engine optimization plan. Link bait is any feature or content in a website that attracts or lures other websites to link to that particular website. Link bait should be interesting enough to catch other people?s attention and to entice them to make a link. For a link bait to be successful and to get the expected result of generating more traffic, a link baiter can make use of several hooks. Link baiting can take the form of news, informational, humor, contrary and fear contents.News hook ? making your site the source of news tidbits and fresh information is one way of generating the much coveted traffic. Being the first to make a scoop on a current event will entice other webmasters to make a link to your website. News readers will turn to your website every time they want to know what is happening around the community and around the world.

What You Should Know About Buying Windows for Your Home

Few areas of home improvement invite as much discussion as windows. In fact, it may come as a surprise that selecting windows for a home remodel is one of the most controversial areas of home improvement. Because purchasing windows is complicated, let?s break down the decision-making process into four areas.

The Four C?s: Condition, Climate, Character and Cost. We?ll handle each section separately, sorting out the options to provide fundamental advice so that you learn the essentials about buying windows for your home.

Condition: Addressing Window Leaks

buying windows for your homeCondition is the most important factor that determines whether or not your windows need to be replaced. If windows don?t operate properly, i.e. they don?t open or close, they need to be replaced. If they leak or allow moisture to enter the home, they need to be replaced. If they don?t insulate properly, making it difficult to heat or cool the house, they may need to be replaced. These are the essential considerations that we group together under condition.

There are some quick fixes that can address problems of leaks and insulation, like re-caulking and weather stripping. However, most often it will be obvious when older windows need replacing. For example, if on a windy day, windows are whistling or even rattling in their sashes, unfortunately, no quick fix can address the problem and new windows are needed.

Climate: Choosing Windows Based on the Local Weather

Thinking about climate should help you to answer the major questions that you have about the many options available. If you live in the northern United States, you?ll need to account for wide temperature differentials. During the winter, interior home temperatures will need to be 50 degrees higher than exterior temperatures. Double pane windows will maintain comfortable interior temperature in an efficient way. In Florida, temperature differentials usually don?t exceed 20 degrees. Concerns about hurricanes may cause some homeowners to consider impact windows, although storm panels may be a more cost-effective option. Homeowners also may consider extra UV-protection for areas exposed to direct sunlight, but an interior window treatment or coating may be a more cost-effective option here.

Character: Choosing Windows That fit the Style of Your Home

A home?s style can be dramatically altered by changing its windows. Traditional hung or awning windows may be the best match for classic architectural styles, while large sliding windows can make a modern statement. Vinyl windows are most cost effective, but may not match the charm of wooden window frames. They also usually come in a small number of colors and finishes and cannot be painted. On the plus side, vinyl windows never need to be refinished.

When painting window frames, both fiberglass and wood are options, and fiberglass may save money because once its painted it?s hard to see the difference. Wood offers the most color and finish options.

Because windows can have such a dramatic effect on the appearance of a home, both inside and out, you may want to find windows most similar to those already in the house or work with a designer to select windows that are appropriate to the character of your home.

Cost: Final Consideration in Buying Windows for Your Home

The options you select can dramatically affect the price of your windows. Careful consideration of your climate and the character of your home will help you to choose what you need without overspending. Don?t be shy about pricing various options and seeking several bids. Installers expect to earn your business both by offering a wide range of options and being price competitive.

Homebuyers definitely do care about the age and condition of windows. When looking at older homes, newer windows, just like a newer roof, tell a prospective homebuyer that they won?t incur certain maintenance expenses ? especially because many windows today come with transferable warranties lasting 10 years or more. ?New windows can mean a higher offer or faster sale when reselling a home.

Thinking of Cutting Costs by Installing Your Own Windows?

Window replacement is generally not a DIY job. Small parts replacement, like replacing a single pane, may be easy work for the do-it-yourselfer. But even installing replacement windows requires specialized tools and skills. Seek several bids from window companies for comparable products. This is an area where professionals can turn a home-improvement nightmare into a quick job. Also, when windows are replaced, they are often done all at once rather than a few at a time. This creates significant efficiency when hiring a professional to do the work, but also most often addresses the needs of the homeowner.

Tim McGraw giving homes, hope to veterans

Mark Humphrey / AP

Tim McGraw in Nashville on May 21.

By Courtney Hazlett

Singer Tim McGraw announced?on Thursday that he?s going to give away 25 mortgage-free houses -- one for each stop on his upcoming ?Brothers of the Sun? tour with Kenny Chesney -- to wounded or needy service members.

The campaign, which kicks off with a Memorial Day concert for military members at the Beacon Theater in New York, was inspired by the close relationships McGraw has with veterans in his life.

?My sister?s a veteran, my uncle?s a veteran, my grandfather was a veteran, one of my best friends is a veteran,? McGraw said in an interview. ?I?ve known people my whole life who are in service to America. And I think in my position to be able to do something like that is probably the ultimate thing. So to be able to go on tour and provide sort of a stable foundation for a veteran and their family is something I really look forward to.?

No doubt, McGraw?s gesture is a fantastic one. Veterans who?ve given so much get homes, and it?s impossible to quantify the impact that greater awareness of veterans' needs could have on their plight. It does however, raise a question: no matter how well intended, how beneficial are these grand gestures? In short, very beneficial, but it?s complicated.

?It?s a fantastic gesture from someone who has done well and wants to support the troops with something far greater than lip service,? Joe Davis, director of public affairs for the Veterans of Foreign Wars told TODAY.com. ?Supporting the troops means impacting lives, and I know this heartfelt donation will tremendously strengthen 25 former military families in their readjustment to civilian life.?

Jon Soltz, Iraq war veteran and chairman of VoteVets.org, emphasizes that McGraw?s donation is wonderful and generous, but points out that such offerings don?t fix some of the more specific issues that impact veterans on a broader scale. ?We hope he (McGraw) uses the opportunity to call attention to the fact that there are thousands of homeless veterans across the US, and in just the past few years, banks have wrongly foreclosed on a large number of our troops,? Soltz says. ?We veterans sincerely thank Tim McGraw for his amazing gift to veterans, and hope he uses this as a springboard for speaking out about the need to not cut Federal funding -- even in these hard economic times -- to help veterans in need.?

Hiring our Heroes: A focus on getting vets back into the workforce

To Soltz?s point, McGraw?s donation does spotlight, but doesn?t specifically address, an incredible housing need among veterans. Between 2008 and 2010, the rate of foreclosure filings in military communities spiked 32 percent, according to USA Today?and data collected from RealtyTrac, a foreclosure research firm. ???

But let?s be fair here: What?s just one person to do? Gary Sinise is often used as an example of a celebrity who displays the ultimate support of veterans. In addition to his dedication to Building Homes for Heroes, which builds homes for severely wounded veterans, the actor supports at least 25 other charities?that point to various other needs via the Gary Sinise Foundation.

?The veterans community has known about Gary Sinise?s dedication for years, and the public is finally aware now, too,? said Paul Rieckhoff, executive director and founder of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. ?But what Tim is doing is a wonderful effort, too. If you can give a veteran a house, then that?s a huge impact.?

Impact aside, the elephant in the room is this: celebrities are often derided for their involvement in causes, especially if their involvement seems less-than-sincere. Ultimately, and importantly, that?s not the case with McGraw.

"He comes from a military family, and has a real connection with veterans. So many campaigns are only awareness and don?t have a monetary value. He has a cultural competency that everyone doesn?t have,? Rieckhoff emphasizes. ?At a time when most folks aren?t doing anything, we should celebrate folks like Tim who are stepping up."

Michael Chiesa vs. Al Iaquinta final set for ?The Ultimate Fighter? finale

Friday night's "The Ultimate Fighter" finale is set as Michael Chiesa and Al Iaquinta won their semifinal bouts. The two Team Faber fighters will meet in the show's live finale on Friday in Las Vegas in a card that will feature Jake Ellenberger and Martin Kampmann in the main event.

Chiesa got an emotional TKO win for Team Faber. He slammed James Vick to his back, got full mount, and ground and pounded for the win. In training the day before the bout, Chiesa had broken down crying, admitting that he's still dealing with the death of his father.

"I feel great. It has been quite a journey. A lot of ups and downs but I feel like I've earned my spot in the finale and I'm very excited to seize the moment," Chiesa said.

Iaquinta earned the right to face his teammate with a unanimous decision win over Pichel. He used wrestling to control Team Cruz's Pichel for the first round, and won the edge in bloody striking in the second round.

"I couldn't have done it without a great team, great roommates. Everyone really helped me out. The coaching staff was just awesome. Everything was a dream come true. When I left I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Now I have the toughest fight of my life ahead of me, and I'm ready for it," Iaquinta said.

The winner of Friday's fight will get a six-figure UFC contract and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Early in Friday night's show, UFC president delivered good news to the cast. Every healthy fighter will fight on the finale. Mike Rio, who broke a rib in practice, and Andy Ogle, who was knocked out in a recent fight, will not fight. Because of Vick's knockout loss, he is medically suspended, leaving Vinc Pinchel without an opponent. They are expected to appear on a future UFC card.

Students. PCs. Free Xbox 360. The Redmond team's at it yet again. Similar to last year's deal, Microsoft's hooking students up with a 4GB Xbox 360 if they drop some cash on one of its Windows machines. It's simple: shell out over $699 on a PC, or $599 if you're in Canada, and you'll be walking out with a shiny new console free of charge -- naturally, you'll have to do so at participating shops such as Best Buy, Fry's, Newegg, Staples, The Source and, of course, Microsoft's own stores. The promo is set to kick off here in the States on May 20th, while those living in the True North can take advantage of it starting today. And before you ask -- yes, you will need to show your scholar credentials to get in on the bargain.

Disco legend Donna Summer dead at 63

By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper

Disco legend Donna Summer died?Thursday at age 63, reportedly?after a battle with cancer.

Michael Ochs Archives / Getty Images

"Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith," the singer's family said in a statement. "While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time."

TMZ was the first to report the singer's?death, and the site?reports that she was recording an album at the time of her death.

The Grammy-winning singer, nicknamed?the Queen of Disco,?had numerous hits in both the 1970s and 1980s, including "Last Dance," "She Works Hard for the Money" and "Bad Girls."

Her duet with Barbra Streisand, "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" was one of four Summer songs that topped the Billboard Top 100 charts.

"I was shocked to hear about Donna," Streisand said in a statement. "She was so vital the last time I saw her a few months ago. I loved doing the duet with her. She had an amazing voice and was so talented."

Summer was the first female artist to?chart with?back-to-back multi-platinum double albums.

She appeared in the 1978 film, "Thank God It's Friday," which won the best original song Oscar for "Last Dance." Summer also appeared twice?on the 1990s hit TV show "Family Matters," playing Steve Urkel's Aunt Oona from Altoona. In 2011, she was a guest judge on music reality show "Platinum Hit," and she performed with the female finalists on the 2008 "American Idol" finale.

Summer won five Grammy Awards and six American Music Awards, and charted three multi-platinum albums.

In 2009, she sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honoring President Barack Obama in Oslo, Norway.

Musician Questlove of The Roots tweeted, "I know that the whole 'disco sucks' stuff left a bad taste in the mouths of some. But Summer's work was really a credible legacy."

Wrote Mario Lopez, "R.I.P Donna Summer ... I remember roller skating to hits like 'Last Dance' 'Hot Stuff' & 'Bad Girls.' Synonymous with the 70's."

Summer was also a formally trained painter. In 2010, she told Atlantic City Weekly that she sold her first painting for $38,000 and thought, "I may want to stop singing now." Summer estimated she had sold close to a million dollars worth of art.

She is survived by her husband, musician Bruce Sudano,?three daughters, and four grandchildren.

Russia preparing to write off $50M Guyana debt before yearend ...

?

RUSAL last year paid over $160M in taxes and royalties to government

Business leaders and others during GMSA?s business luncheon.

and is making significant impacts in this country, Russian Ambassador to Guyana, Nikolay Smirnov, said yesterday.
Speaking at the regular business luncheon of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) at the Regency Hotel, the official also announced plans by his country to write-off more than $50M debt that Guyana owes.
In the past, Russia had cancelled several millions of dollars in debt that Guyana had owed.
Speaking about bilateral relations with Guyana, the official pointed to the 2004 joint venture Russian-Guyanese company, Bauxite Company of Guyana Inc (BCGI), which since the inception of its operations has been growing in leaps and bounds.
?Local municipalities benefit from its operations. Some 500 Guyanese workers are employed by the company. More working places will be created in coming months as the company has brought a large quantity of new heavy equipment into the country.?
In September of 2011 the company sponsored a group of students from Aroaima to study at the prestigious People?s Friendship University of Russia. The new specialists will return in five years to serve Guyana?s economy, the diplomat said.
According to the official, traditional cooperation with Guyana continues in the area of education. ?Annually the Government of the Russian Federation grants scholarships to Guyanese students to study in universities. In June 2012 a group of Guyanese new doctors and economists is planning to return to Guyana to work for the benefit of this country.?
Despite the modest amount of bilateral trade, Smirnov said that Russian exports to Guyana in 2011 were worth US$1.3M and imports from Guyana, US$682,000, but this is ?growing constantly?.
?Russia is interested in further broadening cooperation with Guyana, be it cultural or economic spheres through such organizations like GMSA, Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as on an individual basis,? the official promised.
?Guyana in particular has made the concerns of small countries heard on the issue of climate change and it is pioneering in its partnership with Norway to build a model for cooperation between the developed and developing world in the fight against this global threat. We wish Guyana success in its endeavours.?
Regarding the region?s fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime, Russia stands ready to lend support, he said.
?In this regard I would like to note the signing between Russia and Guyana of an agreement on cooperation in fighting illegal drugs in February 2012. Russia is ready to provide to the respective law enforcement agencies of Guyana and CARICOM states technical and training support. With respect to other areas of cooperation, Russia is ready to offer modern technology in agriculture and energy sector.?
At the luncheon yesterday were several business leaders and Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, who spoke of the relationship between Guyana and Russia and the significance of RUSAL?s local operation.

JPMorgan losses may be $1 billion more than estimated

The trading losses suffered by JPMorgan Chase have surged in recent days, surpassing the bank's initial $2 billion estimate by at least $1 billion, according to people with knowledge of the losses.

When Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan's chief executive, announced the losses last Thursday, he indicated they could double within the next few quarters. But that process has been compressed into four trading days as hedge funds and other investors take advantage of JPMorgan's distress, fueling faster deterioration in the underlying credit market positions held by the bank.

A spokeswoman for the bank declined to comment, although Mr. Dimon has said the total paper trading losses will be volatile depending on day-to-day market fluctuations.

The Federal Reserve is examining the scope of the growing losses and the original bet, along with whether JPMorgan's chief investment office took risks that were inappropriate for a federally insured depository institution, according to several people with knowledge of the examination. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is still under way.

The overall health of the bank remains strong, even with the additional losses, and JPMorgan has been able to increase its stock dividend faster than its rivals because of stronger earnings and a more solid capital buffer.

Still, the huge trading losses rocked Wall Street and reignited the debate over how tightly giant financial institutions should be regulated. Bank analysts say that while the bank's stability is not threatened, if the losses continue to mount, the outlook for the bank's dividend will grow uncertain.

The bank's leadership has discussed the impact of the losses on future earnings, although a dividend cut remains highly unlikely for now. In March, the company raised the quarterly dividend by 5 cents, to 30 cents, which will cost the bank about $190 million more this quarter.

A spokeswoman for the bank said a dividend cut has not been discussed internally.

At the bank's annual meeting in Tampa, Fla., on Tuesday, Mr. Dimon did not definitively rule out cutting the dividend, although he said that he "hoped" it would not be cut.

John Lackey, a shareholder from Richmond, Va., who attened the meeting precisely to ask about the dividend, was not reassured. "That wasn't a very clear answer," he said of Mr. Dimon's response. "I expect that shareholders are going to suffer because of this."

Analysts expect the bank to earn $4 billion in the second quarter, factoring in the original estimated loss of $2 billion. Even if the additional trading losses were to double, the bank could still earn a profit of $2 billion.

And many analysts and investors remain optimistic about the bank's long-term prospects.

Glenn Schorr, a widely followed analyst with Nomura, reiterated on Wednesday his buy rating on JPMorgan shares, which are down more than 10 percent since the trading loss became public last week.

What's more, the chief investment office earned more than $5 billion in the last three years, which leaves it ahead over all, even given the added red ink.

But the underlying problem is that while these sharp swings are expected at a big hedge fund, they should not be occurring at a bank whose deposits are government-backed and which has access to ultralow cost capital from the Federal Reserve, experts said.

"JPMorgan Chase has a big hedge fund inside a commercial bank," said Mark Williams, a professor of finance at Boston University, who also served as a Federal Reserve bank examiner. "They should be taking in deposits and making loans, not taking large speculative bets."

Not long after Mr. Dimon's announcement of a dividend increase in March, the notorious bet by JPMorgan's chief investment office began to fall apart.

Traders at the unit's London desk and elsewhere are now frantically trying to defuse the huge bet that was built up over years, but started generating erratic returns in late March. After a brief pause, the losses began to mount again in late April, prompting Mr. Dimon's announcement on May 10.

Beginning on Friday, the same trends that had been causing the losses for six weeks accelerated, since traders on the opposite side of the bet knew the bank was under pressure to unwind the losing trade and could not double down in any way.

Another issue is that the trader who executed the complex wager, Bruno Iksil, is no longer on the trading desk. Nicknamed the London Whale, Mr. Iksil had a firm grasp on the trade - knowledge that is hard to replace, even though his anticipated departure is seen as sign of the bank's taking responsibility for the debacle.

"They were caught short," said one experienced credit trader who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the situation is still fluid. The market player, who does not stand to gain from JPMorgan's losses and is not involved in the trade, added, "this is a very hard trade to get out of because it's so big."

He estimated that the initial loss of just over $2 billion was caused by a move of a quarter percentage point, or 25 basis points, on a portfolio with a notional value of $150 billion to $200 billion - in other words, the total value of the contracts traded, not JPMorgan's exposure. In the four trading days since Mr. Dimon's disclosure, the market has moved at least 15 to 20 basis points more against JPMorgan, he said.

The overall losses are not directly proportional to the move in basis points because of the complexity of the trade. Many of the positions are highly illiquid, making them difficult to value for regulators and the bank itself.

In its simplest form, traders said, the complex position assembled by the bank included a bullish bet on an index of investment-grade corporate debt, later paired with a bearish bet on high-yield securities, achieved by selling insurance contracts known as credit-default swaps.

A big move in the interest rate spread between the investment grade securities and risk-free government bonds in recent months hurt the first part of the bet, and was not offset by equally large moves in the price of the insurance on the high yield bonds.

As the credit yield curve steepened, the losses piled up on the corporate grade index, overwhelming gains elsewhere on the trades. Making matters worse, there was a mismatch between the expiration of different instruments within the trade, increasing losses.

The additional losses represent a worsening of what is already the most embarrassing misstep for JPMorgan since Mr. Dimon became chief executive in 2005. No one has blamed Mr. Dimon for the trade, which was under the oversight of the head of the chief investment office, Ina Drew, but he has repeatedly apologized, calling it "stupid" and "sloppy."

Ms. Drew resigned Monday and more departures are anticipated.

Can Bill Bradley fix a broken Washington?

Top Line

Former Sen. Bill Bradley's ambitions are still as lofty as he is tall. He is now retired from the Senate, where the Democrat represented the state of New Jersey for 18 years. But the 6'5" NBA Hall of Fame player and one-time candidate for the White House isn't done trying to fix Washington. He says Washington's biggest problems are structural ones, ideas he lays out in his new?book, 'We can All Do Better.'

Bradley spoke with Top Line and immediately ticked off what he says are two of the biggest problems: Gerrymandering (drawing congressional lines to benefit a particular person or party) and the enormous amount of money in politics.

"You deal with gerrymandering by doing what California's done with a commission," said Bradley. And you deal with money and politics with "a Constitutional amendment that says the federal, state and local government can limit the amount of money spent in the political campaign."

Bradley praises the efforts of Americans Elect in his book. Though he laughed off the thought of being the group's candidate and accurately predicted they would likely not get field a candidate this year, the former senator said Americans Elect is on the right track.

"The people behind it are people that really want to try to have innovation in democracy. And indeed that's what we need, we need innovation," said Bradley.

"It'll be a little bit like 'Field of Dreams,' you know. If you build it will they come? Maybe they'll come, maybe they won't come." he continued.

"I think that it's indicative of the power of the two parties, discouraging and also indicative that not many people even know about Americans Elect. But the interesting thing would be how would that play in 2014."

Samsung publishes official Galaxy S III TV ad

Android Central

If you were watching Samsung's May 3 presentation closely enough, you might have seen this before -- it's Samsung's (slightly odd, if we're honest) TV spot for the upcoming Galaxy S III, which the manufacturer's uploaded separately for the first time today.  In amongst clips of happy, attractive people jumping around and enjoying their phones, you'll spot a series of broad slogans alluding to some of the major functions of the phone. Apparently the Galaxy S III is the phone that "keeps track of your loved ones," "recognizes who you are," "follows your every move," and "waits until you're asleep."

Sleep tight. We've got the video itself embedded after the break.

Mitchell Guist, Swamp People Star, Dies from Boat Fall

Mitchell Guist, one of the stars of Swamp People on the History Channel, died this morning from injuries suffered during a fall off his boat.

Authorities tell WBRW.com the accident occurred around 9 a.m. along the Belle River in Louisiana.

Attempts to perform CPR on Mitchell - who appeared on Swamp People along with his brother, Glenn, and hunted alligators on the program - were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital not long after the boat returned to shore.

No reason for the accident or cause of death has been reported, though onlookers say Guist appeared to suffer a seizure.

"We are extremely saddened to report that our friend and beloved member of the Swamp People family, Mitchell Guist, has passed away earlier today. Mitchell passed on the swamp, doing what he loved," a rep for the History Channel said in a statement.

Fry's stocks unlocked Nokia N9, is slightly misinformed about its specs

Image

Sure, Nokia's Lumia 900 and 808 PureView may have garnered much of the spotlight lately, but lest we forgot about its flagship MeeGo handset, the N9. If you've been anxiously hoping to somehow score this slab of polycarbonate unlocked in the US sans gray-market importers, apparently Fry's Electronics has you covered. Phone News spotted a listing for the phone in the store's latest weekly ad -- although upon closer inspection, it appears that the retailer isn't too sure about its actual specs. Aside from describing the 3.9-inch slab of polycarbonate as a 4.3-inch device, it's also flubbed on the OS, calling it "Mego." Perhaps the most interesting error, however, is that the handset's ClearBlack AMOLED display is listed as Super AMOLED -- Samsung's competing technology. Assuming these are merely errors, you'll be able to pick one up for a spendy $600. Hit up the source link below to view the full ad.

Panasonic racks up a record loss for 2012, looks forward to profits and a partner for OLED TVs

Panasonic racks up a record loss for 2012, looks forward to profits and a partner for OLED TVs

Panasonic's yearly earnings are in and the red ink added up to a record $9.7 billion net loss for 2011. Number one on incoming president Kazuhiro Tsuga's list is turning around the company's TV division, where its heavy investments in both plasma and LCD manufacturing resulted in heavy losses. Currently the company expects a better result in both next year after 2011's write downs and restructuring, although its projections see total sales falling from 17.3 million last year to 15.5 million. Panasonic is expected to follow Samsung and LG into large screen OLED HDTV production and outgoing prez Fumio Ohtsubo mentioned it would likely look for a partner there. Sumitomo has been rumored as a potential ally in the past, though a preference for run-flat tires could not be confirmed at press time.
